We'd LOVE to hear from you!!  We're hoping to include some letters in our next shipment going out next week, but so far we're batting next to ZERO! :(  It doesn't have to be fancy, it doesn't have to be long, but we'd love to hear from YOU!  And if your kids want to draw a picture, well, we'd love to have that too :D

If you know me personally, feel free to bring it by or drop it off- If not, feel free to either contact me for an address to mail it to, or email it to opcompassion@gmail.com.

Thanks and we can't wait to hear from you as we continue to bring these troops a bit of Home for the Holidays :D
PS - if you've even taken the time to LOOK at this site, YOU'RE AWESOME!!!!  I hope you know that!  Thank you for supporting us :)

Shipments have begun to arrive!!

Soldier Dan just sent me a message saying he got 2 boxes today!!!  That was so fast!  Though he's not with the 'band of 50' we focused on, he is an incredible soldier in a crazy situation - We're so glad he and his friends got a taste of home and I'm sure they are too!!  He sends his thanks to everyone- I just can't believe they're already arriving!  AWESOME!

I heard through the grapevine that...

...we just got a BIG donation to help with shipping on Operation Compassion from one of the guys or fans at Gun Dudes Radio!!!!  Thank you so much to them and everyone else that has been donating!! We're going to crunch some numbers and see where we're at.  None of this would be possible without the help of all of you real-life angels & miracle workers! Thank you for supporting our Troops!

How can I help?

Besides donating monetarily to help with shipping, we would happily take more food and other donations!  We will be sending out another few boxes right around Christmas -We will post more details soon, but if you'd like to know more now, just send me a message and I'd be happy to fill you in!

We would also LOVE more letters and cards to send to the guys and include in the boxes!  Kids drawings etc are great too!  Leave us a message and we'll email you a mailing address.  If you'd like to write a letter, please email it to opcompassion@gmail.com

That being said, please do not underestimate the value of your cash donation!  We are still about $500 big ones short on the cost of shipping this first round of boxes - If somehow we come out on top of this, we will GLADLY be putting it towards our next shipment in a few weeks - Really, this project has been AMAZING!

Thank you for thinking of our guys and wondering how you can help!  Awesome People ROCK!!

A few photos from "The Great Pack-Up"!

The 'Great Pack-up' started at my house with the help of these 2 Angels!! (I thought I move all of this stuff on my own -boy was I wrong!)
We are so extremely grateful for the generosity of our friends in Springville!
Then we met up with our American Fork friends who had gone door to door and were met with open arms as well!

Even the cub scouts got involved!

More story from this night hopefully to come!  So far, all of the flat rate boxes have been shipped, but the bigger 'lighter' boxes need to be repacked (thankfully there's less than 10 of those)!  I guess after awesome people squeeze candy and other goodies into every last square centimeter of even the lightest of boxes, it can become a heavy-weight as well! :D  YEEHAW!
(If you can help us cover the cost of the shipping, we'd be forever grateful!  We're looking at about $700 in shipping costs and while we have some of that covered, we still have a long way to go-please see our first post for details)
These guys are gonna have one heck of a Christmas thanks to so many of YOU!!  God Bless America and her countless children that still know how to put their brother's needs before their own.  Truly, I have seen the widows mite and the paupers penny given to benefit these heroes!  What an amazing way to honor their service and let them know that they have not been forgotten!

What we're all about...

Dear Friends,
As you may have heard, there is a small group of soldiers currently in Iraq that could use our help. Their living conditions are repulsive (think plywood, decay and rodents/snakes everywhere) and their supply of food leaves MUCH to be desired. Yet, through it all this band of 50 of our countries sons and daughters has been an example to those around them. One of their fellow soldiers, after a recent visit to their camp, stated “Despite all the bad amenities the Soldiers were in good spirits. They worked hard, had success in their missions, and were upbeat. …This is a profound example to me about the power of choosing a good attitude despite your situation.”

WE HAVE CURRENTLY PUT TOGETHER AND PACKED OVER 35 FLAT RATE BOXES AS WELL AS AT LEAST 8 OTHER, LARGER BOXES!!  The outpouring of goods and there donations has been incredible!  While we have received many wonderful cash donations, we are still a few hundred dollars short of what we need to get these babies shipped!  Thankfully, we have a generous donor willing to front the rest of the money so the shippment doesn't have to be delayed, but it is a large burden for him to carry for very long.

We hate to ask for those of you who have given so much to give any more - While we are firmly confident that you will be blessed for your generosity, we know that many of you have already stretched yourselves to give as much as you have and we thank you with hearts overflowing with gratitude.

If you haven't already donated, or are able to contribute towards our shipping, that would be such a help!  Even $5 will make a difference! (Though if you have a friend or two and you'd all like to donate, you might want to do it all together if you can - the less transactions the less paypal fees).

If you would rather donate in person by cash or check instead of online with a bank or credit card, please leave us a message and or send us an email at opcompassion@gmail.com and we'd be happy to work that out!

To donate online, just click on the button above or click here:https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=56NQC2EFJJPD6  PLEASE make sure it says the recipient is Operation Compassion or Treats for Troops - thank you :D It is very safe and secure.

Once again, we have been overwhelmed by the goodness of those around us!  If we ever needed a reminder that there are good people in the world, this was it!  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANKS TO YOU!!
